Town featuresAutogar (bus station): Taxi or dolmus (pronounced 'dole-mush') will take you to or from the autogar. There are travel offices in the town from which you can book buses to every destination. |
| Beaches: The most beautiful area for beaches is Oludeniz, which is twelve km from Fethiye. To get there, go to the corner of the main mosque in Fethiye where you can catch a dolmus. To appreciate the natural beauty of this area, walk to the right along the shoreline and you will come to the National Park where there is the most sublime
beach. |

| You can also take a lovely walk from Fethiye, across country to Oludeniz or, with a car or small motor bike, you can explore beaches further along the coastline. Calis (Chalish) beach is four km to the west and several smaller beaches can be found by following the coast from the eastern end of Fethiye. |

Markets (pazar): The local markets are five minutes walk away, like most things. You can see them from the house - a cluster of trees growing from the centre of a square-roofed area. From these markets you can purchase fresh fruit & vegetables, meat & fish, olives, spices, yoghurts, and a wonderful range of cheeses, just the thing for your stay at one of our self catering holiday houses. On Tuesdays, a little further out there
is another market where you can buy everything! "This market is worth a vist"

| Saklikent: A beautiful ravine, at the beginning of which you will find rustic wooden platforms built over the cool tumbling waters wher you can order good Turkish food & drink. (Keep in mind that it closes for winter on the 31 October). |
| Kayakoy: Beautiful, historic ruins of a Greek town. There are also Turkish restaurants & Tea Houses. Kayakay is about ten minutes drive or a hike through the forest. |

| Hamam (Turkish bath): This, of course, is a must. There are a number of good hamans in Fethiye, including the old hamam in the centre of town and those in the international hotel "Ece Saray" and the "Ata Park Hotel". The best time to go is around 8.30 in the evening. You can wear underwear or cosies, as you wish. It is customary to give a tip |
